Job Description
Hiring for multiple openings. This position is responsible for promoting academic advising as a critical component of a student's educational experience and undergraduate success. This role provides comprehensive academic advising and guidance and assists students in self-exploration, major and career exploration, and in identifying career and professional opportunities throughout their academic careers. It assists students to develop educational plans consistent with their aspirations, interests, strengths, and values. It will encourage holistic engagement with the college experience academically, socially, culturally, and professionally. It fosters students' intellectual and personal development toward academic success, provides and teaches college/university curricula, academic standards, the purpose of general education requirements, and academic policies and processes. Guides students in critically reflecting on academic and career goals. Serves as advising subject matter experts to faculty advisors. Engages in student recruitment and orientation activities and supports and participates in relevant college programs/events. Represents the college at professional organizations, on campus events, and at college events related to student advising, recruitment, and placement.
