Set up and operate band saws, circular saws, or trepanning machines according to work orders, material specifications, and safety guidelines. Interpret drawings, work instructions, and material tags to determine precise cut lengths, tolerances, and measurement requirements. Measure and mark raw materials using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures; inspect cut parts for dimensional accuracy and surface quality. Monitor cutting processes and adjust speeds, feeds, and settings to optimize machine performance and reduce material waste. Perform routine machine checks and promptly report any mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Accurately maintain production records, cut logs, and material traceability documentation. Load and unload heavy metal materials safely using overhead cranes, while following all PPE and machine guarding protocols. Maintain safety stock counts, conduct monthly cycle counts, and keep the work area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; must be fluent in English. Minimum 1 year of experience operating metal cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment, with required experience using Goodway CNC Lathes. Understanding of CNC machinery concepts, including operation and basic troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Proficient in basic math and measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. Familiarity with industrial safety practices; forklift or crane certification preferred. Experience with trepanning machines or deep-hole boring, and working knowledge of various metals such as stainless steel, Inconel, and titanium. Understanding of SAP or similar manufacturing software systems for production tracking and data entry.
