About Us ExED (exed.org) is a nonprofit organization that fosters the development and management of high-performing charter schools. We believe every child deserves access to high-quality public education, especially those in underserved communities. Headquartered in Los Angeles with an additional office in San Diego, ExED is the only nonprofit business service provider serving charter schools in Southern California. We support over 100 charter schools serving more than 44,000 students. Our comprehensive services include accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, public funding compliance, facility financing, and data managementenabling school leaders to focus on student achievement while we ensure operational excellence. Position Overview We are seeking a proactive, enthusiastic Human Resources Generalist to join our Los Angeles team. This hybrid role requires a minimum of two days per week on-site and will report to the Director of Human Resources. The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, and excited to support a wide variety of HR functionswith additional responsibilities in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in support of the Director of Administration. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, has a friendly and welcoming demeanor, and enjoys event planning, recruiting, and learning new skills. Primary Responsibilities Manage full-cycle recruitment: sourcing, screening, scheduling, and communication Maintain and optimize the ATS and LinkedIn recruiting presence Support employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and performance tracking Update and maintain HRIS records and personnel files Assist in payroll processing and benefit administration Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits questions and liaise with brokers/providers Help organize employee engagement and appreciation events as part of the Fun Committee Provide support in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, as needed Serve as a backup for the Administrative Team when necessary Monitor changes in employment law and assist in updating HR policies accordingly Qualifications 35 years of HR experience; nonprofit experience a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset Experience with recruitment, payroll, and benefits administration Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities Team player with a collaborative spirit and willingness to learn Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with Paychex (HRIS and ATS) is highly preferred Experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable processes preferred Event planning experience is a plus Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $60,000$80,000, commensurate with experience Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, and 403(b) Generous PTO, sick leave, and holiday schedule To Apply Submit your resume, cover letter, and salary expectations via our online application system: https://exed.org/careers/ ExED is an equal opportunity employer.
