Director University Bookstore

The Director of the University Bookstore is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial performance of a dynamic, multi-site collegiate retail operation. This includes academic course materials, technology products, emblematic merchandise, caf and convenience services, and e-commerce platforms. The Director ensures that all offerings support student success, institutional branding, and the overall mission of the University. This position requires vision, financial stewardship, vendor and relationship management, and a strong commitment to inclusive leadership and customer service. Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field and seven to ten years related experience in a collegiate or commercial bookstore or related area required. Ability to analyze, budget for and manage the financial commitments/results of a high-volume retail products and services-based business line, including cost-of-goods/inventory management required. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and publishing programs required. Desirable Qualifications Experience supervising non-exempt employees in a unionized environment highly desirable. Anticipated Pay Range $110,000 - 120,000 annually Other Information Special Conditions A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Background Check required for this position.
