The Texas A&M University System Offices, part of the Texas A&M University System, invites applications for a full-time Business Administrator I. The George H.W. Bush Combat Development Complex (BCDC), located on the 2,300-acre RELLIS Campus in Bryan, TX, is an ecosystem for agile technology development and service-member-inspired research. The BCDC is the result of a partnership between the Department of Defense, Texas A&M University System, and the State of Texas. The $200 million complex is designed to bring together researchers from U.S. universities, the military, and the private sector for collaboration, demonstrations, and high-tech testing of initiatives to help accelerate military innovation for our nation's defense. The Business Administrator I, under general supervision, manages the full range of business activities including reviewing and approving business documents and developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts, budgets and other quantitative data. Responsibilities include: serving as an approver and back-up signer of vouchers and requisitions; reviewing and approving account reconciliations; assisting with the management of financial transactions; monitoring and controlling operating expenditures; assisting in the development of annual budget documents; planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring programs or services; developing and recommending policies, procedures, and guidelines; overseeing annual fiscal year closing activities; proposing solutions on complex financial problems; preparing and analyzing business reports; managing allocations and reporting on unit facilities, furnishings and equipment; managing cash handling activities and unit capital equipment purchasing; serving as accountability property officer; serving as liaison with financial, payroll, and human resources units; interpreting System policies and regulations and University rules; developing complex administrative, financial, and statistical analyses and summary reports; managing maintenance of business files; serving as an office manager delegate; implementing and auditing business procedure and training staff on new and existing procedures; establishing, implementing and auditing unit procedures for special activities and programs; assisting in special investigations, program analysis, and research studies; managing personnel activities including preparing position analyses, updating position descriptions, and developing employment offers; communicating with employees regarding personnel policies and procedures and identifying training needs; serving as a resource to principal investigator(s) for grant development, administration, and reporting; participating in the hiring and training of subordinate business staff and student workers; supervising staff and resolving staff conflicts; and other duties may be assigned. Education and experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of related experience. Registration, Certifications, and Licenses: Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications; interpersonal and communication skills; planning and organizational skills; ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge and prior use of FAMIS/Canopy, AggieBuy, Emburse systems. Other Requirements: This is a security-sensitive position and is restricted to U.S. citizens only.
