Pine Mountain Set Technician
The Set Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting weaving operations by performing a range of mechanical maintenance and repair tasks. This role plays a critical part in ensuring loom efficiency, fabric quality, and operational uptime. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Job Responsibilities: Perform monthly rapier maintenance and general loom upkeep Repair and replace flags and investigate causes of damaged reeds Complete Barco declarations and document maintenance activity Approve warp-out start-up and communicate shift status updates Conduct daily oiling and visual equipment inspections Support repair of loom breakdowns and assist in weaving tasks Perform scheduled mechanical loom maintenance Execute procedures for clock pick variance and tension sensor installation Install and maintain components such as metal spreader bars and plastic bar temples Cut and install new plastic threaded rods as needed Book and document all maintenance activities in the system Attend and participate in maintenance meetings Complete quality control checklists for fabric issues including creases, selvage, tight picks, and kinky filling Serve as a first responder for immediate loom or equipment issues Qualifications - Required: High school diploma or GED required Prior experience in textile manufacturing or mechanical maintenance preferred Ability to read and follow written work instructions and procedures Strong mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting skills Willingness to work a rotating 12-hour shift including nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a production environment The successful candidate will have strengths in the following: Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Effective communication and teamwork skills Reliable attendance and adaptability to changing priorities
