Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician at Silverfern North, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include community operations oversight, department supervision, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep to ensure the comfort and well-being of our residents. Responsibilities: Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the community. Hire, evaluate, coordinate, monitor performance, schedule, and supervise maintenance and housekeeping department staff in accordance with company policy and state law. Coordinate maintenance and housekeeping services and activities with other departments. Flexibility to remain on-call 24 hours per day, including evenings and weekends to respond to emergencies if needed. Participates in property surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies. Maintains positive communications with local fire marshal, building inspector, state elevator inspector, and any other jurisdiction governing the property. Conducts daily inspection of properties outside grounds. Immediately corrects any needed items to assure property is always tour-ready. Supervises safety and fire protection and prevention programs by inspecting work areas and equipment regularly. Schedules and oversees quarterly fire drills and semi-annual disaster drills. Acts as safety coordinator and attends meeting of Quality Assurance/Safety/Infection Control Committee. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures to identify appropriate safety precautions and equipment to use when performing tasks that could result in bodily injury. Ensures that containers of hazardous chemicals in the department are properly labeled and stored. Ensures that all necessary Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are obtained, maintained, and stored in areas accessible to all employees. Responsible for implementation of all OSHA policies. Works within legal scope of local and state codes. Establishing an effective preventive maintenance program. Coordinate maintenance requests by residents for items needing repair in their apartments, including plumbing, electrical, heating, and replacing light bulbs. Repairs should be made promptly. Maintain scheduled maintenance on: H.V.A.C., elevator, fire equipment, sprinkler equipment, generator, etc. Replace filters in air conditioning units on a regular basis, tests the emergency lighting equipment, and other equipment as required, and participate in emergency drills. Maintains the preventative binder reflecting completed work. Maintain current list of emergency vendors so that other facility personnel can affect repairs when the Director is not on site. Works with Three E's Director to ensure all vehicles are maintained properly and kept in good working condition. Drives the Community's van as directed. Coordinates with outside contractors in securing bids and scheduling needed work on special projects. Tracks all maintenance procedures and expenditures. Develop safety and emergency protocol in accordance with community and state standards. Perform other duties as assigned. This role is for a beautifully renovated new lease up senior living community in Sharonville. We are looking for a candidate with strong knowledge in the multi-unit industry, with a passion for helping our seniors! Qualifications: Must have a High School diploma or GED Five years of maintenance experience (preferably in Senior Living/Multi-Unit Housing/Healthcare) Two years of supervisory experience Knowledge of regulations Valid and applicable state drivers' license and no major driving violations for the past three years
