The Naval Power Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Contracts within the Shipboard Missiles Sub-Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) serving the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) DCS and Launcher Contracts Portfolio. Currently this position reports to the Production Contracts Lead for ESSM, working alongside a team of 3-5 other contract professionals, who support the entire ESSM portfolio. This position will provide the necessary contracts support to our Launcher Team and External Customers, as they continue to build the launcher portfolio. This role is a general support role for USG and DCS contractual actions and related proposal support. The successful candidate may also be asked to provide direct support to classified contracting activities as required. Responsibilities To Anticipate: Utilize understanding of IDIQ Contracting, Cost Type Contracting, and Fixed Price Contracting. Support the ESSM Launcher team by reviewing and executing contractual documents, within delegation limits. Interpret existing contract documents to answer Program Manager and Program Cross Functional questions, and complete contracting taskings. Review Request for Proposals to determine applicability against current or prior agreements; scope requirements; production impacts. Interpret company proposal data to support review of risks and opportunities; develop submittal packages; submit proposals to external customers; answer customer questions related to proposals in conjunction with program team input; respond to customer requests related to proposals and negotiate price where applicable and appropriate with support from Contracts Leadership. Investigate and resolve contractual matters by applying critical thinking, gathering detailed information, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders while applying innovative contracting approaches. Partner with Raytheon Global Trade to ensure import/export compliance within the contractual framework. Some travel, both domestic and international, is anticipated. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience Experience with administrating US Government contracts, FAR and/or DFARS Experience in proposals and/or contracts negotiations Qualifications We Prefer: Excellent communication and leadership to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex internal and/or direct customers Experience in Commercial and/or International Contracting Ability to work within a complex production team with minimal oversight Ability to work within a team environment and develop effective relationships based on respect and trust Excellent time management and organizational skills Business acumen with a financial understanding of our business Learn More & Apply Now!
