Summary: Our client is seeking a highly skilled Asset Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of transportation-related assets, from acquisition and maintenance to disposal. The position requires advanced skills in asset management systems, data analysis, and process optimization to ensure effective utilization, compliance, and cost efficiency. The Asset Manager will use tools such as
IBM Maximo
(or similar CMMS software),
Microsoft Excel/Access ,
ArcGIS or ESRI GIS platforms , and state-specific asset tracking databases. This role demands strong coordination with internal teams, field personnel, and vendors to keep asset data accurate, optimize maintenance schedules, and ensure assets meet operational and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Planning & Strategy
Develop and implement asset management strategies and policies aligned with industry best practices and agency objectives. Create lifecycle plans for asset acquisition, preventive maintenance, repair, and replacement. Support capital improvement planning using asset performance and condition data. Asset Tracking & Inventory Control
Maintain accurate inventory using
IBM Maximo
or comparable enterprise asset management (EAM) systems. Integrate and update asset data with
GIS mapping platforms
(ArcGIS/ESRI) to track locations and conditions. Conduct regular audits to verify asset records and ensure system accuracy. Operations & Maintenance Coordination
Work with field maintenance teams to schedule inspections and preventive maintenance. Utilize
ServiceNow
or other work order management systems for maintenance tracking. Coordinate vendor and contractor work for repairs, replacements, and service contracts. Data Analysis & Reporting
Use
Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) ,
Access , or
Power BI
for asset data analysis and reporting. Prepare performance dashboards, lifecycle cost analyses, and compliance reports. Provide data-driven recommendations for operational improvements. Process Improvement & Compliance
Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to extend asset life and reduce costs. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as safety standards. Maintain documentation for audits and performance reviews.
