We see patients the day of surgeries and procedures, assess their safety, and implement plans of care including performing histories and physicals, prescribing medications, and intervening as needed. We are a reference for and collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, specialty providers and the perioperative nursing teams. We also continuously look ahead a few weeks in advance to evaluate patients coming for procedures, and optimize them for their anesthesia and procedures. We use provider-level decision making for these interventions in a supportive environment with a strong commitment to excellence and quality improvement.
