We are seeking a
skilled, safety-focused Steel Fitter/Fabricator
to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has experience reading shop drawings, laying out, and fabricating structural steel components - with particular skill in stair and railing work.
Must
read shop drawings to fabricate , fit, and weld stairs, railings, and structural components.
Not entry level
- must work independently with minimal supervision.
3+ years
shop or field fabrication experience required. MIG/TIG/Stick proficiency. Responsibilities
Read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints. Layout, cut, fit, and weld steel components (stairs, railings, frames, supports, etc.). Measure and verify work to meet specifications and tolerances. Operate fabrication tools and equipment (saws, drill presses, grinders, welding machines). Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and quality standards. Requirements 3+ years
fabrication experience in a structural steel shop or field environment. Proficient in
MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
( AWS D1.1
Structural Steel required). Ability to calculate and cut
compound angles
(essential for stairs/rails). Skilled in using tape measures, squares, protractors, and other layout tools. Strong understanding of steel grades, sizes, and welding processes. Ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely. Preferred:
Stair and railing fabrication experience. Must pass a pre-employment screening. Clean driving record
