The posted compensation range of $29.61 - $37.07 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles. The hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II trauma center, the Los Angeles Center for Womens Health, obstetrics and pediatric services, and comprehensive cardiac and surgical services. The hospital shares a legacy of humankindness with Dignity Health, one of the nations five largest health care systems. Responsibilities: All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. Ensures that all assigned patients obtain financial clearance for services. Works closely with other departments, such as Case Management to ensure that goal. Interviews patients to address all missing information and outstanding patient liabilities. Identifies patients who may be eligible for government program assistance and refers, as appropriate, for completion of applications. Assists patients with CHW's Payment Assistance Program, provides applications, and, where necessary, assists in the completion of that application. Calculates patient liabilities, makes payment arrangements and collects monies from patients. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years Financial Counseling experience. High School Graduate preferred. Knowledgeable in all phases of Medi-Cal program, including application process, eligibility status and case problems. Knowledgeable of outside related departments - Soc. Svc., VA, VOC, Rehabilitation Centers, hospitals contacted in determining hospital coverage. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. Demonstrated PC skills. Office equipment, such as QUBE/Medicare Eligibility system, Blue Cross standard system, various Medi-Cal Eligibility systems, calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, telephones, typewriters, files/file cabinets, etc. Personal computers and computer peripheral equipment. Detail oriented. This position is represented by SEIU, Local 399.
