Supply Chain Logistics Manager
You will support the end-to-end supply chain mission, executing supply support functions and tasks for assigned material, systems, platforms, and/or projects. You will evaluate and manage the material acquisition process, including procurement, repair, material issuing, budgetary planning and execution, overall program support management, logistics data maintenance, and equipment disposal. You will analyze data from systems such as Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to compile reports, communicate status, and draw conclusions. You will lead the Submarine Industrial Support Section by creating plans, assigning work, adjusting priorities, giving advice, counsel or instruction, and evaluating work performed by subordinates. You will develop ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed. Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes. Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying expert knowledge of logistics management principles, theories, and processes to analyze short/long-range plans and make recommendations for improving efficiency and effectiveness. Examples of specialized experience include: Working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain and lifecycle logistics support as it relates to assigned material, systems, platforms, and/or projects; Coordinating with internal and external partners to analyze and communicate supply system performance; Performing analysis and informing mission partners on supply chain barriers and possible solutions; Utilizing knowledge of material and resource budget processes to resolve unique and complex problems; Providing technical direction, guidance, and leadership to a team of employees working collaboratively.
