The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Program Management – Program’s Southeast Queens Initiative team. The successful candidate, reporting to the Program Director, will be responsible for preparing contract documents, specifications, and final estimates; conducting engineering investigations; developing contract plans and working drawings; conducting field surveys; compiling reports; participating in engineering reviews and studies; and designing projects with minimal oversight. Authorization to work in the United States is required. NYC Department of Design and Construction does not provide sponsorship for international employees for visas, extensions, or status changes. Preferred Skills: Outstanding communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Knowledge of infrastructure projects (sewers, water mains, roadways) Familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards Understanding of NYC infrastructure and engineering practices Proficiency in Primavera P6 and ENV SP credential (preferred) Valid driver's license (required) Personal vehicle (optional) This position is open to qualified persons with a disability under the 55-a Program.
