Overview Touro University Occupational Therapy (OT) program is seeking to hire an Assistant/Associate Professor (rank is Commensurate with experience) for the All-women section of the OT program. Faculty job requirements include teaching, service, scholarship, and collaboration with the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator. Responsibilities Teach required credit load Course preparation, delivery, management, grading, and use of a learning management system (Canvas) for courses offered in-person and by distance education Student advisement Serve as a professional role model to students in the areas of equity, fairness, ethics and objectivity, communication skills, and attitudes toward profession, job, school, and work responsibilities Assist AFWC with ensuring that fieldwork is integrated and appropriately represented in program curricula Assist AFWC with establishing clinical agreements between Touro and the site appropriate for students in the All-women section Maintain communication and support students during fieldwork placements Assist AFWC with conducting site visits, mediating between fieldwork supervisor and students, and establishing learning contracts when necessary Qualifications Education/Experience License in Occupational Therapy from New York State Department of Education Office of Professional Licensing. Earned Doctorate preferred in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline awarded by an institution that holds a regional accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Demonstrated record of scholarly work and activities preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of occupational therapy Experience teaching in higher education Experience with academic fieldwork coordination preferred. Strong writing and communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Certifications/Licensures License in Occupational Therapy from New York State Department of Education Office of Professional Licensing. Earned Doctorate preferred in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline awarded by an institution that holds a regional accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education Travel Primarily work in Flatbush-Brooklyn campus with some travel to Long Island and NYC campuses. Travel to fieldwork sites as needed Salary Maximum Salary: USD $50,000.00/Yr. Minimum Salary: USD $40,000.00/Yr.
