Overview
Touro University Occupational Therapy (OT) program is seeking to hire an Assistant/Associate Professor (rank is commensurate with experience) for the All-women section of the OT program. Faculty responsibilities include teaching, service, scholarship, and collaboration with the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Teach required credit load
- Prepare, deliver, and manage courses using a learning management system (Canvas) for in-person and distance education
- Advise students
- Serve as a professional role model in areas of equity, fairness, ethics, communication, and professional attitudes
- Assist AFWC with integrating fieldwork into the curriculum
- Help establish clinical agreements with fieldwork sites appropriate for the All-women section
- Support students during fieldwork placements and maintain communication
- Conduct site visits, mediate between supervisors and students, and establish learning contracts as needed
Education/Experience
- License in Occupational Therapy from New York State Department of Education
- Doctorate preferred in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline from an accredited institution
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Scholarly work and activity record preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of occupational therapy experience
- Experience teaching in higher education
- Experience with academic fieldwork coordination preferred
- Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Certifications/Licenses
- Occupational Therapy license from NYS
- Doctorate preferred
Travel
- Primarily work at the Flatbush-Brooklyn campus with some travel to Long Island and NYC campuses
- Travel to fieldwork sites as needed
Salary Range
Maximum: USD $50,000/year
Minimum: USD $40,000/year
