Our HR team is small but mighty-just three dedicated professionals: our HR Manager, HR/Payroll Specialist (that's you!), and our HR Assistant. Together, we support approximately 100 employees across 11 locations throughout Michigan. It's a hands-on, high-impact role where teamwork is essential and every contribution matters.

Who You Are

You're a detail-loving, tech-savvy HR professional with a passion for payroll. You thrive on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, and you know how critical it is to get every paycheck right. You're confident navigating HRIS systems, solving payroll puzzles, and streamlining processes. You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves to make processes smoother and smarter. You also enjoy connecting with people-whether it's helping a new hire feel welcome, supporting a community volunteer event, or crafting a killer interview guide.

What You'll Do

As our

HR & Payroll Specialist , payroll is your primary focus-but you'll also support broader HR operations. You'll: Own the bi-weekly payroll process

from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal and state regulations Audit payroll data , including hours, PTO, bonuses, and deductions, with precision and care Manage payroll-related reporting , including W2 audits, Michigan ESTA calculations, and vendor reports Support benefits setup and Open Enrollment logistics , including payroll deductions and carrier coordination Create and run HRIS reports

that help leaders make informed decisions Build workflows and templates in Paylocity

to automate and improve payroll and HR processes Coordinate onboarding and training assignments , ensuring new hires are set up for success Maintain and update the Sun Title Careers webpage Help develop recruiting strategies

tailored to each open role Create interview guides

that help us find the perfect fit Manage internal HR communications and employee announcements Support employee engagement and community volunteer events Requirements

What You Bring

4+ years of HR experience, including

hands-on payroll and benefits administration Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field Experience with

Paylocity

(or similar HRIS) Advanced

Microsoft Office skills A knack for communication and confidentiality A valid driver's license (you might be running a few errands!) Bonus points
