MPA provides after-sales service parts support for Hyundai Motors, Kia Motors, and Genesis. In addition to the distribution of genuine service parts, the MPA Accessories division develops accessories for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis - which are installed on new vehicles in the United States and Canada.
Description
The DeploymentEngineer will be responsible for the seamless deployment of program changesdeveloped by our software development team into our test and productionsystems. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strongproblem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-pacedenvironment. In addition to deployment tasks, the Deployment Engineer will also be involved in standard maintenance duties to ensure the reliability and performance of our systems.
This is a full-time position at our North America HQ, though occasional travel may be required to travel to satellite offices in U.S.A.

Assist MPA business departments with defining, creating, and submitting proper deployment requests forms and documentation.

Coordinate with Business, Support, and Development teams to plan and schedule requested deployments.

Assist with and manage development of test deployment scripts for use on TEST and PROD implementations.

Successfully implement all deployments during scheduled timeframes, troubleshoot any issues and documents all results, issues, resolutions to keep system fully functional.

Define, document, and follow standards and best practices for systems design, testing, and implementation for all deployments.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs):
o Assign reported issues to the appropriate programmer or support team member.
o Coordinate deployment of system enhancements or new functionality.
o Coordinate with Systems Support team to ensure unit testing prior to User Acceptance Testing.
o Coordinate with HAEA, H/KMA, Mobis HQ and other subsidiaries for any external system impacts or interfaces.
o Proper pre-deployment testing and validation is conducted to ensure smooth production launch
o Ensure appropriate approval and workflow channels are followed ahead of any deployments/changes. Documentation of all changes is properly recorded.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information technology or a related discipline (Or a combination of education and equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of progressive experience in a software deployment environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in system deployment, preferably in a complex enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, CVS, SVN) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Strong understanding of operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows) and network fundamentals.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., ChangeFlow) is a plus.
- Certifications such as ITIL, DevOps, or relevant vendor-specific certifications are desirable.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills required.
- Working knowledge of IBM-I (i5/OS, AS/400, System i, i-Series), AIX, WebSphere, Windows, and DB2
- Experience with Java a plus.
- Proficient computer skills: e-mail, record keeping, routine database, word processing, spreadsheets, support workflow development.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate with multiple groups within the Systems organization, as well as business users.
- This position must be able to troubleshoot basic and complex issues that arise during testing, implementation, and post launch.
- Ability to develop and maintain automation scripts or tools to improve efficiency.
- This position is primarily a professional, office-based job, including use of phones, computers, handheld computer equipment, copy machines, etc.
- This position is primarily office-based; however some lifting is required. The ability to lift parts, up to 60lbs, during inspection and installation on vehicles is required. The position also requires typical adult flexibility, during the installations.
- This position typically works 8 hrs. per day M-F, with possibility of Hybrid work arrangement.
- Minimal travel < 10%, may include day trips, to local warehouse, or in some cases, overnight at offsite locations
