Role Summary
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting financial planning and analysis across key business segments, with a specialized focus on aviation operations. This position is instrumental in driving accurate reporting, strategic budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency.
You'll be responsible for preparing detailed journal entries, managing monthly and quarterly reporting cycles, and maintaining critical databases that support aviation-related financial activities. This role requires a blend of technical accounting expertise, analytical rigor, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries related to aviation operations, including accruals, recharges, and cost allocations
- Generate monthly financial reports with variance analysis against budget and forecasts
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly estimates with supporting documentation
- Maintain and update the aviation database with flight log details
- Reconcile account balances to the general ledger
- Coordinate quarterly and annual insurance, tax, and audit requests
- Support capital acquisition and disposal reviews
- Collaborate with operations and other departments to gather data and ensure accurate planning and reporting
- Execute special projects as assigned by management
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with MS Access preferred
- Familiarity with Hyperion (Essbase/Smartview), Oracle, and SAP
- Experience in financial analysis, reporting, and accounting procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational capabilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Customer service mindset and collaborative approach
- Prior experience in the Media and Entertainment industry is a plus
