technical specialist or in a lead substation design role
encompassing EHV transmission level voltage class. Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems. Provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on substation design projects. Be responsible for the overall execution and quality of substation projects as a leader within a team environment. This is a

Overland Park, KS . Flexible hybrid expectations allow three in-office days and two flex/remote days per week. The Team BV’s Energy & Process business is driven to meet clients’ rapidly changing infrastructure needs in generation, storage, transmission, and distribution of safe, reliable electric power. Our business continues to invest in renewable energy to power the future and support BV’s vision of more sustainable solutions. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications Power/Power Systems experience preferred Quality Assurance and Quality Control of EHV substation design projects EHV Substation design experience (physical & P&C) Technical experience preferred Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain budgets and schedules for multiple substation design projects. Perform EHV substation design, including physical design, protective relaying/control with an emphasis on continuous improvement. Provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies. Certifications Most positions - depending on the nature of work performed as defined by the division - will typically require incumbents to have professional registration or licensure in their designated home office country, or be in active pursuit of such registration.
