We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Emergency Management Specialist. In this role, the successful candidate will lead execution across the entire Emergency Management and Enterprise Resilience mission space. The position involves managing a small team (1-4 staff) of specialists supporting these functions. Job Responsibilities
Lead interdisciplinary teams to conceive and execute broad-based and integrated programs of emergency management planning, training, and exercises. Perform other duties as assigned. Recommend and coordinate procurement of emergency management equipment and audit its maintenance. Support efforts to maintain compliance with Joint Commission and CARF requirements for emergency management. Mentor and manage assigned staff. Represent NYU Langone to emergency management agencies, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders. Serve in a key emergency management leadership role during incidents, emergencies, and disasters. Be available to work off-hours (nights and weekends) as needed during emergencies. Participate in rotating on-call schedules to receive incident notifications and lead response activities. Facilitate strategic risk reviews and maintain the Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) and Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). Work with staff and departments to test, review, and update emergency and business continuity plans. Build and maintain professional relationships across the enterprise. Develop and promulgate operations-level plans and tactical procedures for emergency response and resilience. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in emergency management, healthcare administration, occupational health and safety, or related field, or equivalent experience. At least 6 years of relevant experience in emergency management, public health, hospital administration, or emergency services.
