Secret Astrion is seeking a highly skilled
Production and Systems Engineer SME
to drive the development, integration, and optimization of advanced CUAS technologies. You will be responsible for
end-to-end system design , ensuring manufacturability, operational reliability, and performance. Qualifications / Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering. 15+ years of experience in C-UAS, defense, aerospace, or complex systems engineering. Deep expertise in production, quality, systems engineering, system architecture, integration, and lifecycle management. Strong knowledge of sensor fusion, electronic warfare, and RF signal processing. (Preferred) Experience in hardware/software integration, cybersecurity, and data link communications. (Preferred) DoD Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance (preferred Active but dependent on role scope). Responsibilities Lead systems engineering processes, ensuring robust system architectures and seamless integration. Develop and refine requirements, specifications, and verification plans for CUAS technologies. Oversee manufacturing workflows, assembly, and production optimization while maintaining system integrity. Implement model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies to enhance design and development. (Preferred) Manage trade studies, risk analysis, and performance validation to ensure optimal CUAS functionality. Collaborate cross-functionally with S&T, software, hardware, and user teams. Conduct and Lead Failure Review Boards, failure mode analysis (FMEA), root-cause investigations, and system reliability improvements. Ensure compliance with DoD standards, MIL-SPECs, and aerospace regulations. Lead testing, integration, and validation efforts to ensure CUAS effectiveness in real-world scenarios. Seniority level
