Job Overview – Controller – 33642 Are you a hands-on accounting leader looking to step into a role where you can drive process improvements and support the financial health of a growing, remote-first organization? Our client, a leading provider of workforce information software used by Fortune 500 companies, is seeking a Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help strengthen the company’s financial infrastructure. Compensation: $170,000 This role offers the opportunity to lead a small accounting team and partner closely with senior leadership, bringing clarity and structure to financial processes. If you're detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable managing the month-end close, financial reporting, and general accounting operations, this could be the perfect next step in your career. Responsibilities
Oversee accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, and month-end close Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP Monitor internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvements Support compliance with sales tax requirements across multiple states Maintain and improve invoicing and collections processes Supervise and mentor a remote accounting team (currently one direct report) Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial insights and support decision-making Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, tools, and procedures Requirements
Active CPA required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting best practices Experience managing or overseeing core accounting functions such as AR/AP, general ledger, financial close, and tax compliance Proven ability to lead and support remote teams Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online; familiarity with NetSuite or similar systems is a plus Willingness to travel twice per year for team off-sites Additional Job Details Workplace Policy: Seniority Level: Mid-Senior Level LinkedIn Poster: About Our Process
