Shipping Clerk The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and executing moderately complex shipping and receiving functions. This position ensures the accurate preparation of shipping documentation, scheduling of carriers, and tracking of inbound and outbound shipments. The role serves as a liaison between internal departments and external logistics providers. Communicates with customers/contractors to keep them up to date on status of shipments. What You'll Be Doing Prepare and process shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, and invoices for multiple sites. Schedule and coordinate freight pickups and deliveries with carriers. Track and trace shipments; provide status updates to customers. Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness. Investigate and resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies. Communicate with carriers to resolve delivery or pickup issues. Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory movement. Use shipping software, ERP systems, or TMS platforms for logistics documentation. Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation as needed. Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards. Qualifications
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. 1+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics preferred. Familiarity with ERPs and TMSs preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Occasional lifting of packages up to 30lbs. Working knowledge of logistics software, Excel, and ERP systems. Frequently sitting, typing on a computer, and making phone calls. Frequent walking on production floor and going up and down stairs. Organization skills and a sense of urgency are required to be successful in this role. Compensation This is a salaried non-exempt role. This means that employees are paid a salary and also receive overtime pay when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law). The starting salary range for this role and market is between $28,080 $36,855 annually. Factors that may affect the starting salary include geography/market and the individual's tenure, performance, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
