PICU RN Job Details - Charlotte, NC Location: Charlotte, NC 28203 (North Carolina healthcare jobs) Facility: Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Employment Type: Travel Nursing - PICU RN Start Date: September 8, 2025 End Date: December 6, 2025 Assignment Length: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour day shifts (0645-1915 or 0700-1930) Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed Estimated Weekly Salary: $1470 - $1570 Weekend Rotation: 2 Fridays, 2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays, and 2 Mondays per 6-week schedule Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays; every other holiday (eve and day) required Scrub Color: Navy Parking: Free on-site PICU RN Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state) BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required Minimum 2 years of recent, high-acuity PICU nursing experience Proficiency with EPIC EMR Experience with: Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino device, Belmont Rapid Infuser, vasoactive drip titration, invasive lines (ART lines/CVP), ventilator and trach management, HOFV, g-tube/j-tube management, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, sedation and analgesic drip management, CRRT, and bedside procedures Ability to float to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, and General Pediatrics as needed First-time travel nurses welcome PICU RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with diverse diagnoses (respiratory, trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical, renal failure, orthopedic, surgical, transplants, blood disorders) Monitor and manage patients using advanced clinical technology and equipment (Alaris & Medfusion pumps, Omnicell, Phillips monitors, Belmont Rapid Infuser, Accuvein, PIV Ultrasound, Artic Sun, Camino, EV-1000 Vigileo, I-stat, Accuryn) Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including intensivists, residents, APPs, CNAs, unit secretaries, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, resource nurses, and respiratory therapists Maintain aseptic and sterile techniques, perform dressing changes, and manage feeding tubes and Foley catheters Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing clinical education Float to other pediatric units as needed to support patient care Demonstrate teamwork, trust, accountability, and respect in all professional interactions Apply now to join our healthcare team as a PICU RN in Charlotte, NC, and make a difference in pediatric critical care.
