Job Description:

The Payroll Administrator plays a key role in processing timely and accurate payroll for a diverse employee population. This role also supports compliance efforts, reporting, and employee payroll inquiries in partnership with Human Resources and Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll on a weekly and bi-weekly basis for multiple groups, including hourly, salaried, and union staff
  • Review and confirm hours worked, pay rates, and applicable deductions
  • Update payroll records for new hires, terminations, and employee changes
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and direct deposits
  • Ensure payroll is compliant with all applicable wage and hour laws
  • Assist with year-end tasks such as W-2 issuance and bonus payments
  • Generate reports for internal departments and assist with audits
  • Partner with HR to ensure accurate PTO, leave, and benefits tracking
  • Reconcile payroll reports prior to final submission
  • Stay informed on changes to payroll and tax regulations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience; multi-state or union payroll preferred
  • Familiarity with different software: ADP Lyric is a plus
  • Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
