Job Description:
The Payroll Administrator plays a key role in processing timely and accurate payroll for a diverse employee population. This role also supports compliance efforts, reporting, and employee payroll inquiries in partnership with Human Resources and Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll on a weekly and bi-weekly basis for multiple groups, including hourly, salaried, and union staff
- Review and confirm hours worked, pay rates, and applicable deductions
- Update payroll records for new hires, terminations, and employee changes
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and direct deposits
- Ensure payroll is compliant with all applicable wage and hour laws
- Assist with year-end tasks such as W-2 issuance and bonus payments
- Generate reports for internal departments and assist with audits
- Partner with HR to ensure accurate PTO, leave, and benefits tracking
- Reconcile payroll reports prior to final submission
- Stay informed on changes to payroll and tax regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 3 years of payroll experience; multi-state or union payroll preferred
- Familiarity with different software: ADP Lyric is a plus
- Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
