Accounts Payable Clerk
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting the financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable processes and demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately review and verify vendor invoices, matching them against purchase orders.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system.
- Process vendor payments in accordance with payment terms and company policies.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams as needed.
- Research and resolve discrepancies as it related to AP.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
- Monitor AP inbox.
- Assist in preparing reports for accounting department.
- Contribute to month-end closing activities related to Accounts Payable.
- Update and maintain vendor profiles.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of invoice processing, coding, and payment procedures.
- Familiarity with accounting systems and software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Understanding of month-end closing processes and financial reporting.
