We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated General Ledger Accountant to support our Corporate Accounting team based on the Northwest side of San Antonio (78249 area code). This role is responsible for the accurate and timely entry, reconciliation, and analysis of financial data, as well as financial reporting to management and key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong financial acumen, exceptional organizational skills, and a high aptitude for technology and financial systems. This position requires adaptability and a proactive mindset to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving responsibilities. Key Responsibilities
Perform general ledger accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy Support financial reporting and provide insights to management and stakeholders Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and ensure compliance with internal controls Maintain documentation and audit trails in accordance with company policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the accounting function Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required Minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within a consumer products manufacturing or similar industry Solid understanding of GAAP Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet critical deadlines (e.g., month-end close) Preferred Skills
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems strongly preferred Experience with financial reporting tools such as Power BI Understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
