Powder Coating Technician
We are looking for a skilled, dedicated, and reliable Powder Coating Technician to join our team in the San Gabriel Valley area. The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in powder coating and is familiar with prepping, coating, and curing metal products. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. While formal certification is not required, candidates with OSHA safety training, forklift certification, or Powder Coating Institute (PCI) training are highly preferred. Additional responsibilities may include forklift operation, shipping, and receiving tasks. Key Responsibilities: Prepare surfaces for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed. Apply powder coatings evenly using spray guns or automated equipment. Monitor curing processes in ovens to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality. Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards. Maintain and clean powder coating equipment for optimal performance. Warehouse & General Duties: Operate a forklift to transport materials and finished products. Assist in shipping and receiving, including loading/unloading trucks and checking inventory. Organize and maintain work areas to ensure a clean and safe workspace. Follow all safety regulations related to powder coating, chemical handling, and warehouse operations. Qualifications & Requirements: Minimum 1 year of powder coating experience (industrial or manufacturing setting preferred). Ability to operate and maintain powder coating equipment and ovens. Knowledge of surface preparation, coating techniques, and curing processes. Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is a plus. Experience with shipping, receiving, and general warehouse duties preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control. Preferred Certifications & Training (Not Required but Beneficial) Powder Coating Institute (PCI) Certification Industry-recognized training for coating professionals. OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry Training Covers workplace safety and hazardous materials. Forklift Certification Required for operating forklifts in warehouses. Hazardous Materials Handling (HAZMAT/HazCom OSHA Standard 1910.1200) Beneficial for working with certain powder coatings. Benefits: Competitive pay based on experience ($17.00 - $20.00 hr.)
