Summary: In this position, you will be working independently and collaboratively with a cross-functional team including Engineering, Sales, Production, Logistics, and Purchasing who are responsible for the design, support, and manufacturing of commercial HVAC equipment. This role will focus on product design and the continuous improvement in refrigeration systems of existing products with regards to efficiency, manufacturability, and quality. Responsibilities: Product Design: Analyze and design systems and components related to the assembly, operation, and performance of commercial HVAC units. Product Support: Support Production, Sales, Applications, and Technical Support teams in the operation of the product (product life cycle). Develop Solutions: Engage with critical/high priority Engineering projects. Conduct product testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of changes. Deviations: Review and approve deviations from standard practice. Engineer to Order: Analyze custom job requests. Vendor Relations: Collaborate with suppliers/vendors on the design of new and alternative components. Continuous Improvement: Initiate continuous improvements for new and existing products, systems, and methods to improve performance, cost efficiency and reliability. Specification and Regulatory Analysis: Analyze test results and implement appropriate changes to ensure products meet technical and functional requirements. Documentation: Work with Sales, Production, and other engineering staff to help create and maintain sales documentation. Ensure Accuracy:Provide clear, concise, and accurate information to all relevant internal and external customers. Continuous Education: Maintain a working understanding of applicable industry standards (ASHRAE, AHRI, ANSI, etc.). Safety Standards: Always adhere to company safety standards.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent related experience Software Proficiency:Proficient in Microsoft Suite Technical Skills:Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Mechanical Skills: Strong hands-on/mechanical aptitude. Interpersonal Skills:Excellent personal interaction skills. Time Management:Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Safety/Physical Requirements: Onsite Presence:Must be onsite for at least 40 hours per week. Physical Activity:Ability to access manufacturing areas, lift/move parts, and stand for multiple hours per day. Background Check:Must pass a background check and drug test. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work on ladders or step stools Requires bending, stooping and standing. Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day. (Overtime may extend time period.) Good visual and spatial perception Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.
