Job Description

The Program Coordinator II, under the general supervision of the Passenger Safety and KidSafe Initiatives Program Manager, works collaboratively to plan, develop and implement occupant protection traffic safety educational programming statewide.

Responsibilities:

-Develops and maintains a strong community presence and builds partnerships with community organizations statewide.

-Assists in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, conducting and monitoring programs and services statewide.

-Assists in developing strategies for measuring and enhancing the Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) and child passenger safety education participant experience. -Assists in establishing short and long term goals based on program strategic planning and grant objectives. -Collaborates with others to create new and expanded programs. -Documents program events and activities according to funder requirements. -Conducts child safety seat inspection events and distribution programming statewide. -Assists in the preparation and maintenance of special reports, and other grant reporting documents.-Attends meetings and conferences to discuss the progress of assigned programming areas.

-Travel statewide, on average 70% of the time, to coordinate and conduct programming and fulfill job duties, including evening, weekend and overnight travel.

-Other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience: -Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

-Four years of related experience

Preferred Experience: -Preferred prior experience in traffic safety programming, community-based educational programing, educating youth and adults.

Preferred Licenses or Certifications:

-Prefer current certified Child Passenger Safety Technician/Proxy or Child Passenger Safety Technician-Instructor. If not currently certified, complete Child Passenger Safety Technician certification within 3 months of hire and Child Passenger Safety Technician-Instructor certification within 18 months of hire.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Good communication and computer skills.

Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.

Ability to travel including weekend and overnight travel.

With approval, this position may be eligible for remote work location.

Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding.
