Program Specialist III - Passenger Safety & KidSafe Initiatives

Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service Family And Community Health Commensurate College Station, Texas Staff Job Description The Program Specialist III, under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, manages marketing and public relations for the Passenger Safety & KidSafe Initiatives program, coordinates and conducts programming and helps to maintain a strong community presence. Responsibilities: -Develops and manages an aggressive marketing and public relations program using social media platforms, media, electronic communications, and other external communications/media outlets. -In collaboration for program leadership, manages Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) mentoring initiative in order to maintain a strong and growing CPST base that supports the growth of the CPST knowledge and skills and builds positive awareness in the community. -Develops public education and informational materials. -Develops and maintains a strong community presence and builds partnerships with community organizations. -Develops strategies for measuring and enhancing the CPST experience. -Assists in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring programs and services in assigned area. -Assists in the preparation and maintenance of special reports, and other grant reporting documents. -Attends meetings and conferences to discuss the progress of assigned programming areas. -Travel statewide, on average 70% of the time, to coordinate and conduct programming and fulfill job duties, including evening, weekend and overnight travel. -Other duties as required. Required Education and Experience: -Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Three years of related experience. Preferred Experience: -Preferred prior experience in traffic safety programming and community-based educational programing, including youth and adult education experience. Preferred Licenses or Certifications: -Current Child Passenger Safety Technician Proxy certification, prefer Child Passenger Safety Technician-Instructor certification or obtain Child Passenger Safety Technician-Instructor certification within 6 months of hire. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications. -Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills. -Ability to maintain attention to detail and utilize sound judgment. -Ability to travel including weekends and overnight. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -Knowledge of marketing material creation programs, video creation and editing. -With approval, this position is eligible for remote work location.
