Program Specialist V - Passenger Safety & KidSafe Initiatives

Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service Family And Community Health Commensurate College Station, Texas Staff The Program Specialist V, under general supervision of the Program Manager, performs complex administrative and program coordination work for the Passenger Safety & KidSafe Initiatives. Responsibilities: -Plans and develops specialized programs such as national Child Passenger Safety Technician certification courses, Child Passenger Safety Technician and Instructor mentoring to facilitate program goals. Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and monitors programming. Develop and assess programs. -In collaboration for program leadership, manages Child Passenger Safety Technician-Instructor (CPST-I) mentoring initiative in order to maintain a strong and growing CPST-I base that supports the growth of the CPST-I knowledge and skills and builds positive awareness in the community. -Monitors policies, procedures, and regulations related to Child Passenger Safety Technician certification trainings, and ensure all requirements are met. Prepares and oversees the preparation of mentoring and operational manuals. Prepares and maintains special reports and other grant related documents. -Prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of program activities. Participates in the development of program goals and objectives. Develops and recommends program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations. Attends meetings and conferences to discuss the progress of assigned programs. Develops strategies for measuring and enhancing the CPST-I experience. - Assists in planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring programs and services statewide. - Travel statewide, on average 70% of the time, to coordinate and conduct programming and fulfill job duties, including evening, weekend and overnight travel. -Other duties as required. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Eight years of related experience Preferred Experience: Eight years of related experience in traffic safety education and minimum of 10 years' experience in child passenger safety. Required knowledge, skills and abilities: - Good communication and computer skills - Ability to travel as needed -Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. With approval, this position is eligible for remote work location. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding. All positions are security-sensitive.
