Enterprise Physical Security Division Job
This position is located in the Enterprise Physical Security Division (EPSD) within Security Management Division of Security Integration and Technology Directorate. The EPSD delivers electronic and physical security systems to the Pentagon Facilities, including but not limited to access control, intrusion detection and alarm systems, perimeter detection, video surveillance, duress, identity management, biometrics, and passive/active security protections.
Responsibilities
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
- Manage integration and sustainment of complex, large-scale, enterprise Electronic Security Systems (ESS) solutions that provide consolidated alarm management and incident response capabilities for PFPA's Security Operations Centers.
- Develop and manage project plans, risk assessments, and resource allocation strategies to support the deployment of complex ESS integration projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Conduct system performance assessments and implement enhancements to improve efficiency, reliability, and threat detection capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex security system issues by coordinating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and technical support personnel.
- Provide senior-level briefings, reports, and recommendations to leadership on ESS project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Conduct site surveys and security risk assessments to determine ESS requirements and recommend optimal configurations.
- Ensure ESS technologies comply with federal regulations, agency policies, and cybersecurity frameworks such as FIPS, NIST, and DHS guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP components. A Special Background Investigation (SBI) is required with favorable adjudication by a determining authority. This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the civilian drug-testing program. As a mandatory requirement for employment in this TDP, the incumbent is to (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if required, submit to urinalysis testing. The selectee must sign statements acknowledging the position is identified as a TDP. The employee assigned to this position is designated as a MISSION ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE. Mission essential employees may be required to report for, or remain at, work in dismissal or closure situations due to adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, or other emergency situations (e.g., building closure due to power outage) causing disruptions of government operations, and are required to maintain contact with their supervisor during any dismissal or closure situation unless specifically excused by their supervisor. This position is indexed as requiring the Security Fundamentals DoD Certification in accordance with DoD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The employee must obtain the required certification within two years of entering on duty in this position. This certification requirement only applies to employees hired or reassigned into this position on or after March 14, 2016.

You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates:
- Applying knowledge and experience in integrating multiple ESS and other related systems using an integration platform such as Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) or similar solution;
- Applying knowledge and experience in system design, integration, and deployment of state-of-the-art ESS and C2 technologies;
- Preparing written reports and formal correspondence relative to decisions, conclusions, recommendations, and rationale.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
