This position is located in the Enterprise Physical Security Division (EPSD), Leased Facilities Security Branch (LFSB). The LFSB is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, quality assurance, and life-cycle replacement of physical security countermeasures for DoD personnel located in the NCR's Leased Facilities in accordance with DoD and Interagency Security Committee (ISC) requirements. Responsibilities Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Conducts physical security inspections, information security surveys, and security engineering and anti-terrorism assessments of construction proposals and plans. Recommends corrective action or additional types of protection and prepares written products for further consideration on findings. Analyzes floor plans, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams as a basis for planning necessary measures to incorporate into new or renovated construction, or to improve existing systems. Responsible for providing program management and oversight on multiple physical security projects occurring simultaneously. Reviews contract proposals for construction and modification to buildings to ensure that adequate and appropriate security safeguards are included in plans and specifications. Ensures work products and activities conform to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and current Operations Security (OPSEC) protocols. Ensures work products and coordination activities adhere to proper Operations Security (OPSEC) practices and standards for marking, handling, disseminating, and storing sensitive information, to include correctly annotating and securing classified, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) work products.
The employee assigned to this position is designated as a MISSION CRITICAL EMPLOYEE. Mission Critical employees may be required to report for, or remain at, work in dismissal or closure situations due to adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, or other emergency situations (e.g., building closure due to power outage) causing disruptions of government operations, and are required to maintain contact with their supervisor during any dismissal or closure situation unless specifically excused by their supervisor. This position is indexed as requiring the Security Fundamentals DoD Certification in accordance with DoD 3305 13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification.
