Health systems that become part of Risant Health will continue to operate as regional or community-based health systems serving and meeting the needs of their communities, providers and health plans while gaining expertise, resources, and support through Risant Healths value-based platform. Risant Health will operate separately and distinctly from Kaiser Permanentes core integrated care and coverage model while building upon Kaiser Permanentes nearly 80 years of expertise in value-based care.
DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION
The Risant Health Finance function combines the agility of a start-up with the expertise of a leading health system and plays a critical role in ensuring the long-term viability and success of Risant Health. This includes ensuring high integrity reporting and financial consolidation with Kaiser Permanente (KP), oversight of Risant Health and subsidiary financial performance, strategic evaluation of new growth and improvement opportunities, thorough vetting of potential new acquisitions, and partnering with senior leaders on economic and capital planning to ensure Risant Health meets its strategic goals.
The Finance function also serves as a strategic advisor to Risant Healths CEO and leaders of Risant Healths affiliated organizations, translating strategic priorities into actionable financial plans that support growth and stability.
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst is a key member of the Risant Health Finance team and plays a critical role in supporting the development and interpretation of financial assessments for Risant Health and, as needed, its affiliated organizations. This role operates under the guidance of senior team members and collaborates across multiple functions.
As an individual contributor, the FP&A Analyst will be involved in supporting the development of budgets and forecasts, as well as ongoing performance analytics and management reporting. This position may also be involved in the financial evaluation of potential Risant Health acquisitions. The FP&A Analyst is accountable for ensuring all analyses are completed accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring risks are addressed and/or raised to leadership for consideration.
The FP&A Analyst will report directly to the Leader of Financial Planning & Analysis and Strategic Finance.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Principal responsibilities of the FP&A Analyst include but are not limited to:
- Budgeting and Performance Analysis:
- Supports the development and preparation of Risant Health budgets by gathering data, performing analysis and managing day-to-day activities to align with Risant Healths strategic objectives, under the guidance of senior team members.
- Conducts in-depth analysis of historical data, market trends and business metrics to inform budgeting decisions, ensuring effective allocation of financial resources. Proactively escalates risks to financial performance for review by senior team members.
- Prepares, maintains and contributes to ongoing and special management reports to assist leadership in informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- Adheres to standardized practices on financial and operational reporting, pressures tests provided data and results, and flags risks or concerns to leadership.
- Supports and collaborates with the Controller team on monthly close and distillation of insights around underlying results and impact of out of period items.
- Financial Evaluation of Target Risant Health Organizations and New Initiatives:
- Supports leadership and collaborates with investment banking teams to develop business cases for potential acquisitions for Risant Health.
- Conducts analyses to assess the financial feasibility, risks and potential synergies of proposed transactions.
- Measures and tracks synergies realization across Risant Health organizations, ensuring that Risant Health delivers on its value creation goals and commitments to its organizations.
- Supports the evaluation of other new initiatives and ventures, assessing their viability, potential risks, and expected returns.
- Assists in the preparation of financial findings, recommendations and supporting materials for presentation to leadership and other key stakeholders, helping communicate complex financial concepts and analyses in a clear and concise manner.
- Finance partnership on Risant Health Value-Based Platform (VBP):
- The VBP is a central priority for Risant Health, including codifying the best of KP and Risant Health organizations into new technology and services to dramatically improve quality and affordability for patients and communities, as well as performance under Value-based Care arrangements.
- As needed, collaborates with the VBP and IT teams to support VBPs multi-year economic plan, informing the trajectory of investment and realization of benefits to Risant Health and those it serves.
- Assists in tracking financial progress to the economic plan, including quarterly progress and overall returns (measurable and not measurable), tracking deployment of equity funding from KP and financial impacts at the subsidiary level.
- Capital and Economic Plan Development:
- Contributes to the development of consolidated capital and economic plansfor Risant Health by gathering requirements at the Risant Health level and collaborating with affiliated organizations on their individual plans.
- Provides support in establishing standards for the format and content of the economic plans, assisting in ensuring alignment with organizational objectives through testing and validation.
- Analyzes the economic plans to identify synergiesacross all systems, assessing both hard and soft benefits to maximize Risant Healths value proposition and support strategic goals.
- Assists in the development and evaluation of financial modelsto support strategic decision-making, including operating cash flow analyses, pro forma P&L, NPV, IRR, and DCF, while monitoring variance analysis.
- Assists in the development of scenario analysesto evaluate their financial impact, optimizing risk management strategies to inform planning and decision-making.

The FP&A Analyst will be accountable for the following:
- Supporting the Leader of Financial Planning & Analysis and Strategic Finance in developing and executing the financial strategy to support Risant Healths growth and sustainability.
- Supporting accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Taking ownership of assigned work tasks and ensuring their timely and accurate completion.
- Having a proactive approach in the identification and resolution of any obstacles or challenges that may hinder the completion of work assignments.
- Demonstrating a high level of accountability and responsibility for delivering quality work within established deadlines.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years Financial Planning & Analysis experience or directly related business experience.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
Qualifications
- Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) within the healthcare industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial management, including DCF, ROI analysis, and resource allocation.
- Hands-on experience with advanced Excel functions (e.g. Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, charts, macros and complex formulas) to efficiently clean, manipulate and analyze data for actionable insights.
- Intellectually curious with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to drive results in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving start-up environment.
Additional Information
Compensation and Benefits: The projected base salary for this position ranges from $85,000 - $112,200, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including wellness programs, retirement savings, and relocation support as applicable.
