Staff Accountant Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in San Francisco, California. This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring three days onsite and two days remote, with initial training conducted fully onsite. The role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting key accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking and depreciation calculations.
- Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including those related to bank activities.
- Handle deferred accounts as part of the month-end close process.
- Complete month-end close procedures within the established 10-business-day timeline.
- Review and compare bank transactions and credit card statements to ensure alignment with posted records.
- Utilize accounting software effectively to streamline processes and ensure data accuracy.
- Collaborate with team members to address reconciliation issues and improve efficiency.
- Provide training and guidance during the onboarding period to ensure seamless workflow integration.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on reconciliations and month-end close.
- Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and analyzing financial discrepancies.
- Strong knowledge of journal entries and fixed asset management.
- Experience with accounting software, preferably SAP or similar systems.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, particularly during month-end close procedures.
- Detail-oriented approach to reviewing financial records and resolving discrepancies.
- Strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy in reconciliations and reporting.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide training support.
