RSM is looking for an Audit Manager to join our Insurance team. Our Insurance group is a rapidly growing practice in our firm nationwide, focused specifically on insurance companies, where we are the middle market leaders throughout the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations, including coordinating the auditing of all required financial statements, related disclosures, and other client deliverables.
  • Assess risk along with designing and communicating audit procedures to engagement teams.
  • Understand and utilize RSM's Audit Methodology.
  • Manage multiple engagement teams and prepare end-of-engagement evaluations for staff.
  • Understand skillsets and capabilities of Senior Associates and Supervisors, monitor and review their work, and report on performance while providing coaching notes throughout the process.
  • Supervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors on engagement teams, functioning as in-charge, facilitating field work, and monitoring productivity and adherence to work plans.
  • Maintain contact with clients throughout the year to understand significant developments and assess their impact on current audits.
  • Develop others through training, advising on career development, and participating in firm initiatives.
  • Subscribe to and share relevant industry publications with clients.
  • Address client concerns proactively and escalate issues as needed.
  • Discuss opportunities for additional services with clients and develop strategies to utilize external relationships for business growth.
  • Manage project profitability.
  • Identify and communicate accounting and auditing issues to senior management and partners.
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Ensure ongoing professional development and stay updated on GAAP, GAAS, FASB, and IFRS standards.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the year, depending on client needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • CPA or CA certification.
  • 5+ years of recent experience in public accounting.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring staff.
  • Knowledge of audit standards, GAAP, GAAS, FASB, or IFRS.
  • Proven ability to build profitable client relationships.
  • Minimum of 4 years of team lead or in-charge experience overseeing staff on multiple engagements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful record of managing staff on multiple engagements.

The salary range for this role is $89,800 - $170,500, depending on experience and qualifications. Selected candidates will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance.
