Were looking for a caring and energetic respite provider to support a joyful and active little boy who will be starting Kindergarten this fall. He is on the autism spectrum and is mostly non-verbal, but loves to communicate through song, movement, and gestures. Hes happiest when hes around music, water, nature, and has some yummy snacks!
Pay: $14.13/hour (after tax rate)
Location: Child resides in Altoona, WI - Services will begin in the familys home and may transition into community outings as comfort grows
Schedule: 5 hours/week available. Schedule TBD between provider & family. FRI, SAT, SUN preferred.
Things He Enjoys: Water activities Swimming and bath time Music Singing, drumming, and dancing His tablet Especially interactive shows and music (Pete the Catt & Kiff)
Jumping and movement The Trampoline Park on a quieter day (i.e. Sunday) Going for walks & riding in his wagon
Playing with Playdough Snacks!
Ideal Candidate: A kind, patient, and energetic individual who can provide a safe and fun environment Willingness to actively participate in play, initiate fun activities, and connect Open to regular communication with the family and adaptable to a changing schedule. Experience with Autism preferred Physically able to run after him occasionally as he may elope to get a closer look at something that interests him (i.e. Starbucks sign, blinking lights on traffic signs, etc.)
Requirements: Valid drivers license and reliable transportation Willing to undergo a caregiver background check upon hire
*Must be able to successfully pass a background check before being hired. If hired, Consumer Direct Care Network (CDCN) will not be your legal employer on record. If hired by a Member or their Managing Party, your legal employer on record would be the Member. CDCNs role is to assist the Member or Managing Party in recruiting a Direct Care Worker. The Member or Managing Party has the sole authority to hire or dismiss any potential Direct Care Worker.
