Supervisor, Tax Reporting Department

This position follows our hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be 3 per week averaging 12 days per month in our Memphis, TN Corporate Office. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supervisor to lead a team within our Tax Reporting Department, a critical function in our financial services organization. This role combines technical tax expertise with people leadership, ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting while fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture. Responsibilities: Lead and develop a team of tax reporting professionals, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development support. Oversee the preparation and review of tax documents and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with IRS and global tax regulations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline reporting processes and resolve complex tax issues. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing impact and implementing necessary process updates. Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Ensure adherence to internal controls and support audit and regulatory inquiries as needed. Contribute to the development of annual and longer-term business plans; forecast performance against business key performance indicators (KPIs); develop business cases for key activities/projects; and estimate the financial and human resources required to deliver performance targets. Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy and action plan and to the broader organization's mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals. Develop and propose own performance objectives; take appropriate actions to ensure achievement of agreed objectives, using the organization's performance management systems to improve personal performance. Or manage and report on team performance; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold people accountable for achieving them, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives. Develop short- or medium-term work schedules in order to achieve planned commitments. Approve overtime or use additional resources as needed. Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them. Work within established procedures to achieve specified goals. Advise managers how to apply a wide variety of existing procedures and precedents. Keep track of risk parameters, identifying any deviations and reporting them to more senior colleagues. Involves working within established risk management systems. Track budgets and report variances to more senior colleagues. Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate. Skills: Demonstrates expert-level proficiency in independently planning, organizing, and prioritizing complex activities to align with business goals, while mentoring others to optimize operational efficiency. Leads the development and execution of strategic plans based on recommendations and requirements, offering guidance and training to peers to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Independently interprets and applies policies and procedures to support strategic goals, while providing technical expertise and mentorship to ensure consistent organizational compliance. Communicates with clarity and influence across all levels of the organization, independently driving initiatives and coaching others to articulate ideas, request actions, and shape policies effectively. Applies deep knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies to guide decision-making and ensure compliance, while offering expert-level support and direction to colleagues. Support Independently analyzes complex data trends to produce actionable insights and high-impact reports, while mentoring others in data interpretation and visualization. Crafts and evaluates clear, concise, and impactful reports that inform strategic decisions, while providing expert guidance to others in effective reporting practices. Proactively identifies, evaluates, and mitigates risks with minimal oversight, while offering technical direction to ensure robust risk management across teams. Champions high standards of customer service through independent execution and leadership, while training others to deliver exceptional client experiences. Drives strategic initiatives independently, applying advanced planning skills to shape long-term organizational success and mentoring others in strategic thinking. Oversees projects and programs with precision, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline, while mentoring others in project management best practices. Independently designs and executes efficient workflows to achieve strategic goals, while coaching others in process improvement and operational excellence. Licenses/Certifications: SIE required or ability to obtain within 120 days (as required by FINRA), provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied. Series 99 required, or ability to obtain within 120 days (as required by FINRA). Persons holding Series 6, 7, 17, 37 or 38 or those who hold principal-level registrations: Series 4, 9/10, 14, 16, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 51, and 53 would be qualified to register as an Operations Professional (Series 99) without passing the examination.
