Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating our advanced CNC press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal components according to engineering specifications. This role is critical to our production process, requiring a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety.Key Responsibilities:•Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate CNC press brake machines (such as Bystronic or other models) to bend and form various types of metal, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.•Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine the correct bending sequence, tooling requirements, and dimensions.•Quality Control: Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, protractors) to ensure finished parts meet strict dimensional tolerances and quality standards.•Tooling: Select, install, and adjust the appropriate dies and tooling for each job.•Programming: Enter and edit machine programs as needed to achieve desired part specifications and optimize production.•Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Perform routine daily maintenance and cleaning of the press brake machine to ensure optimal performance and a safe workspace.•Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues to minimize downtime and report any major mechanical problems to the supervisor.•Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members, supervisors, and the quality assurance department to ensure a smooth production flow and high-quality output.Qualifications:•Experience: Proven experience as a Brake Press Operator in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment. Experience with CNC press brakes is highly preferred.•Technical Skills:o Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.o Strong knowledge of metal properties and how they react to the bending process.o Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.o Basic computer and math skills (including fractions and decimals).•Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move materials up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive physical tasks.•Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, good problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to teamwork.•Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training is a plus.
