Towson University:

Position:
The Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology at Towson University invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral research fellow position beginning September 2025. This two-year position, supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health, is designed to support early-career scholars in advancing their research and professional development. Extension beyond the initial term is possible based on performance and continued funding. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in pediatric auditory development, though applicants with other relevant research interests and strengths are also encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in hearing science, communicative disorders, engineering, or a related field. A completed doctoral degree is required by the start of the appointment.
Responsibilities:
The postdoctoral fellow will support a range of projects focused on auditory perception, particularly in pediatric populations. Responsibilities include conducting behavioral assessments, assisting with data analysis and grant preparation, and contributing to publications and conference presentations. The role also involves administrative support to ensure smooth coordination of interdisciplinary research. Ideal candidates will bring a strong mix of research experience, technical skills, and organizational ability.
Department Information:
The Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology currently has 19 full-time faculty who teach nearly 250 undergraduate students, over 100 master’s students in Speech-Language Pathology, and over 60 students in an Audiology clinical doctorate program. The Department values diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and encourages interdisciplinary activities. The Department is the academic home to two clinical and outreach centers, the Speech & Language Center and the Hearing & Balance Center; these two centers are part of the College’s Institute for Well-Being, which is the University’s premiere interprofessional education and practice center.

Salary and Benefits:
Compensation will be based on the candidate’s postdoctoral experience and is consistent with the NIH NRSA stipends, which currently range from $62,232 (entry-level) to $75,564 (7+ years of experience).
