This Experienced Senior Support Engineer will join our Support Team in providing support for PCs, networking equipment, servers, firewalls, and desktop operating systems for a variety of small to medium-sized organizations. There will be computers, network equipment, and servers that will need to be configured in our offices for deployment to client sites. There is also an opportunity to do projects (on-site and cloud).
Note: This is not a remote position . Room to grow within the organizationpotential to move into Project Team and vCIO positions. Certification training materials and approved tests will be covered by the company.
Responsibilities and Duties
The candidate should be open to performing a wide variety of IT support tasks, ranging from simple desktop support to server, firewall, and network issues, as dictated by clients and workload. The candidate will collaborate with the support team, technical account managers, and project team. This is a senior position that serves as the last point of escalation before involving the Service Manager.
We are looking for someone who will take overall ownership of service tickets assigned to the team and personally manage their resolution. Qualifications and Skills Non-Technical: Must reside within 25 miles of Florham Park, NJ, and reliably commute to our offices daily.
Commitment to providing excellent customer service is essential. Willingness to take ownership of issues and demonstrate initiative. Ability to follow internal procedures and document tickets and time daily in our PSA and ITGLUE systems Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Commitment to ongoing education, certification, and self-improvement. Technical: Recent professional experience with an MSP/VAR or IT consulting firm is highly preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Windows (server and desktop), Active Directory, DNS. Proficient with SonicWall Firewall or similar corporate firewalls. Proficient in Office 365 administration and troubleshooting. Working knowledge of Azure (VMs, Virtual Desktops) or higher. Proficient with networking connectivity and related equipment. Proficient in virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware. Experience with backup technologies like Datto or similar. Experience with ConnectWise Manage, Automate, or similar products is highly preferred. Meet all assigned technical training goals. Benefits
