This Experienced Senior Support Engineer will join our Support Team to provide support for PCs, networking equipment, servers, firewalls, and desktop operating systems for small to medium-sized organizations. Responsibilities include configuring computers, network equipment, and servers for deployment at client sites. There will also be opportunities to work on projects (both on-site and cloud).
Note:
This is
not a remote position . There is room for growth within the organization, including moving to Project Team and vCIO positions. Certification training materials and approved tests will be covered by the company. Responsibilities and Duties The candidate should be comfortable performing a wide range of IT support tasks, from simple desktop support to server, firewall, and network issues, as dictated by clients and workload. The candidate will collaborate with the support team, technical account managers, and project team. This is a senior role that serves as the last point of escalation before involving the Service Manager.
We are seeking someone who will take overall ownership of service tickets assigned to the team and personally manage their resolution. Qualifications and Skills Non-Technical: Must live within 25 miles of Florham Park, NJ, and commute reliably to our offices daily. Commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Willingness to take ownership of issues and show initiative. Ability to follow internal procedures and document tickets and time daily in our PSA and ITGLUE. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to continuous education, certification, and self-improvement. Technical: Recent professional experience with an MSP/VAR or IT consulting firm is highly preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows (server and desktop), AD/DNS. SonicWall Firewall or similar corporate firewall experience. Proficiency with Office 365 (administration/troubleshooting). Working knowledge of Azure (VMs, Virtual Desktops) or higher. Proficiency in networking connectivity and related equipment. Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware. Experience with backup technologies like Datto or similar. Experience with ConnectWise Manage, Automate, or similar products is highly desirable. Meet all assigned technical training goals. Benefits Medical and Dental insurance fully paid by the employer. Short-term and long-term disability provided by the employer. PTO starting at 15 days, increasing with tenure, plus most federal holidays. 401(k) retirement plan with up to 4% company match. Reimbursement for Microsoft and other approved certification tests.
