KOST USA is looking for an Cost Accountant to join our team. We are looking for a self-motivated, professional, and organized individual who enjoys detailed work and a fast-paced environment. The Cost Accountant is responsible for working across the organization to ensure accurate recording of inventory, proper product costing, process improvement, management reporting and assisting in financial planning.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining the inventory module and related entries and reconciliations, including reconciling cycle counts from the Operations team to financial records for all locations and all products.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date bills of materials for all products and SKUs.
Preparing inventory related management reports, key metrics and trend summaries. Creating visibility of cost of sales and gross margin results for the management team.
Partnering with the Site Controller and management team to reduce inventory levels and identify aging inventory and recommended actions.
Collaborating with operating personnel to ensure timely and accurate cycle counting program.
Developing and maintaining financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
Conducting variance analysis to compare actual results to budget and forecast, identifying key drivers and trends.
Supporting the Site Controller with the plants financial and capital budgeting process.
Providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Periodically reviewing absorption methodology and recommending new approaches to ensure proper costing and minimizing variability.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other business-related field. Or other relevant experience.
Five or more years of experience
Preferred background in manufacturing/distribution and support of operational performance
Must have strong finance conceptual knowledge and analytical mindset, strong communication skills, and work well in a team environment
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
SQL experience is a plus but not required.
Experience using integrated ERP systems, Microsoft AX or Dynamics 365 experience is a plus
