Position Summary:
Freeman Boatworks is seeking a detail-oriented and confident Senior Accountant / Accounts Receivable Specialist to lead our AR processes while supporting broader accounting functions. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate customer accounts, ensuring strong cash flow, performing key reconciliations, and assisting in the monthly financial close process. The ideal candidate is highly organized, excels in cross-functional collaboration, and takes ownership of the company's receivables and cash management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the full-cycle Accounts Receivable process, including billing, collections, and reporting
  • Monitor customer accounts and proactively follow up on past due invoices
  • Serve as the liaison between finance, sales, and operations to resolve invoicing discrepancies
  • Perform AR reconciliations and maintain ledger accuracy
  • Conduct daily and weekly cash reconciliations
  • Support and participate in the monthly financial close process, including preparation of schedules and journal entries related to AR, cash, accruals, and inventory
  • Maintain Fix Asset schedules
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting and provide timely updates to leadership
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation to support audit and reporting needs
  • Provide backup support across the accounting team as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1-3+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on Accounts Receivable
  • Strong understanding of AR, reconciliations, GAAP, and month-end close processes
  • Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.)
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities independently
