Staff Accountant

Addison Group's client is searching for a Staff Accountant for a 3-6+ month project in Fairfax, VA. This role pays $28-30/hr. As a Staff Accountant, you will manage essential accounting functions, assist in financial reporting, and contribute to the overall health of our financial records. You'll play a key role in the monthly closing process, financial data management, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports. Assist in the monthly close process by preparing and reviewing account reconciliations. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed. Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow. Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities. Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in accounting operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in an accounting role. Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
