Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures, handle reconciliations and compliance (accounting and tax) to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, and adhere to accounting and tax regulations.
Key duties include ensuring the integrity of financial data, executing the monthly accounting close, preparing reconciliations and journal entries, overseeing general ledger activities, financial reporting, and year-end audits. The role also involves supervising accounting staff, communicating with senior management, and ensuring compliance with tax laws.
Basic Requirements
- BA/BS in Business with a major in Accounting; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Five to seven years of experience in financial reporting or general ledger, preferably in manufacturing.
- Proficiency with PC, ERP systems (SAP preferred), and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, leadership, multitasking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to pass background checks and physical/drug screening.
