About the Role:
Enbridge is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst with deep Oil & Gas industry experience to support our U.S. Tax team. This role focuses on federal and multi-state income tax compliance for upstream and midstream energy operations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on tax compliance experience specific to the energy sector , with a firm grasp of the tax treatment of complex corporate structures, partnerships, and intercompany transactions common in oil and gas enterprises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file federal income tax returns for oil & gas corporate entities and partnerships.
- Generate and submit foreign information reports including those impacted by Subpart F and GILTI rules.
- Handle state income/franchise tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions with a focus on the tax nuances of energy operations.
- Support tax basis depreciation schedules using energy-sector-appropriate fixed asset systems (e.g., BNA).
- Partner with upstream and midstream accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of book-tax differences.
- Engage in the preparation and review of the consolidated return , ensuring deadlines and audit readiness.
- Monitor legislative changes in energy tax policy and identify specific impacts to upstream and pipeline business units.
- Lead or assist in quarterly true-ups, provision support, and estimated payment calculations .
- Participate in the electronic filing process for both federal and state returns using Corptax or equivalent.
- Maintain documentation in a centralized SharePoint repository and ensure records support aggressive yet defensible tax positions.
Who You Are:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA or Masters in Taxation strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of hands-on income tax experience in the oil & gas industry (upstream, midstream, or integrated energy companies).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance requirements specific to energy operations.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud, HFM, Corptax, BNA, and tax research platforms .
- Comfortable working with complex partnership and corporate structures typical in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficient in Excel and Word , with strong communication and documentation skills.
- Proven ability to operate effectively under strict deadlines in a regulated, capital-intensive industry.
