Position Description
Performs various responsible accounting related activities involving the payment of employee travel, airfare, car rentals, and DART card program, along with related reporting. Work requires contact with governmental agencies. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor
Essential Duties:
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business-related discipline. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience : 2 years accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, auditing experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).

Position Description
Performs various responsible accounting related activities involving the payment of employee travel, airfare, car rentals, and DART card program, along with related reporting. Essential Duties:
- Enters and processes data into the PeopleSoft Travel and Expense Module, TINS or USAS or other automated accounting systems; accesses interconnected state computer accounting systems to track status for travel and expense payments.
- Monitors reports and assists with resolving pending transactions in the PeopleSoft Travel and Expense Module.
- Provides technical assistance; assists in preparing new systems/programs or enhancements to existing systems/programs.
- Audits, reconciles, processes and reports and provides training on complex Travel related accounts and activities.
- Communicates Department Travel policies and procedures to district or division personnel and/or provides training.
- Examines accounting source documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with departmental and state rules, regulations and agreements.
- Investigates and reconciles complex accounting discrepancies related to Travel.
- Processes or audits various departmental vouchers, invoices or deposits for purchases or contracted services; prepares vouchers authorizing payments and processes for distribution.
- Responsible for handling specific complex accounts or transactions related to Travel Expense, Citibank Airfare, Direct bill hotels and Hotel Engine.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, etc. highly preferred.
- Bookkeeping
- Accounts Payable
- Account Reconciliations
- PeopleSoft or other ERP system
- Accounting software such at Excel, including experience with pivot tables
- Auditing and investigative methods, practices and procedures
- Applicable laws, rules and regulations related to Travel and Accounts payable
- Applicable mainframe systems and applications, such as USAS and TINS
- Applicable computer operating systems and relevant applications such as PeopleSoft FSCM or Travel and Expense software preferred
- Researching, analyzing and interpreting policies and state and federal laws and regulations related to Travel and Accounts Payable
- Public relations for maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups
- Analyzing and organizing business and technical data
- The responsibilities associated with administrative practices and procedures to include writing, editing and report writing techniques, recording meeting notes, record keeping and records management
- Communicate effectively
- Exercises logic and reasoning to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; makes decisions that support business objectives and goals
- Sedentary work; Lift up to 10lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
- Repetitive motion-substantial movements of wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Close visual acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
